Don Balducci, grandson to Alma Marchetti, opened Balducci’s Italian restaurant. At the restaurant, guests enjoyed its quaint friendly atmosphere and the tunes of all the Italian favorites. But it was something else that brought them back again and again: delicious, home-cooked meals made with a special blend of herbs and spices, lovingly prepared by the proprietor – and the cherished sauce recipes of Alma. Guests loved it and asked for jars to take home to family and friends. Soon there was so much demand for the sauces that in 2005 the manufacturing began of Balducci’s Chicago sauces to an ever-growing fan base.

Today, Balducci’s Italian restaurant is now closed. But, you can still enjoy the perfect taste of Balduccis sauces as well as tons of great new flavors born from our rich heritage. Balducci’s Chicago pasta sauces and finishing sauces, are sold across the Chicago community and found in hundreds of stores, deli’s, and specialty shops and enjoyed on everything you can dream up. As we all like to say, “It’s never been easier to cook Italian!!”
